Tuesday 7/31/07- General Hospital

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Ric Hearst was so impressive today in his scenes with Steve Burton, he proves almost everyday, why he deserves three Emmys. He played it so well and what he does more often is that he acts and one of those characters you just love to hate. He is the star of Jason’s trial, the only one who is truly shining in today’s episode.

So Jax got away- its a shame that he is only a device in the story, its mainly about Jerry and Carly. And the past love of Jerry’s, Irina, is probably gonna last for a couple days although I do like her exoticness. Weren’t those scenes between Jax and Irina so on the border of soft core porn, GH is the sexiest soap on television.

Lulu actually, in my opinion, is worse than Elizabeth because not only has she kept the secret, but she has advised Liz how to manage her life around that secret. It bothers me so much, when I thought LuLu was all about doing the right thing, she still continues to be deceptive to her own brother, there is no apology for this.

Today’s show was interesting but not entirely engaging, nice try by the GH writers.

Tuesday 7/31/07- One Life to Live

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Natalie has seriously disappointed me lately, defending Miles when she doesn’t even know what type of person he is. She is only jealous of Marty because he is her knight in shining armor, saving her from the bad guys. Her character is one-note and not the feisty, smart Natalie that we’ve been accustomed to.

Boy is that Roxie a firecracker, she still hasn’t learned the importance of subtlety in blurting out Antonio’s personal business. But for her character I do not mind because that is what makes Roxie great, she doesn’t follow the rules of society. And she plays it out in such a comedic way that makes her interesting to watch.

Todd was such a jerk today, in all the time Blair put into caring and watching over him, he returns the favor by asking about another woman. I know he was gone for awhile but come on she has been through a lot, that must of hurt her so much. But not to worry Vangie is not coming back anytime soon, I think.

They have sure done a bang up job trying to make us hate Adrianna today, her behavior is horrible. She is so naive, he does so much to prove that she was wrong about Tate and she doesn’t see his role in saving her. If Rex did nothing you could have died with the rest of them, sacrifices to that monster, Tate.

OLTL is not impressing me lately, hopefully it is watchable tomorrow.

Tuesday 7/31/07- All My Children

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

It is a shame that they are letting go Kelli Giddish(Di), she did a very fine job today. I like that she was sticking it to Greenlee for her horrible actions, making like her character a little better. Other than that I really did not dig the whole Fusion part of today’s show-nobody really carried those scenes the way they should have.

So the baby survived, thankfully, the scene played out today of the Slaters together with their little Ian. Which by the way is the character played by Thorsten Kaye(Zach) on the now defunct ABC soap Port Charles and methinks that this is homage to that- being that the current head writers were once the head writers for Port Charles. Too much info, I know, but I found that interesting.

Today I felt absolutely no sympathy or compassion for Greenlee, I hoped that she would have died in the hospital, serves her right. She is not ill or demented but lacks a soul and conscience and, in my opinion, is by far the most worthless character in Pine Valley’s history. I know it was a business decision to not tell the full truth, but it seemed so heartless what she told that reporter, I hate her character.

I cringe in the scenes where almost everybody having interaction with Adam scour at him for framing Sean, when in fact it was Ava. She manipulated the whole situation about the full truth of Adam’s involvement and he doesn’t deserve it. Even though it was enjoyable to see Jackson tell Adam off today, instead of Erica doing the honor.

The show was not impressive, but with the pace it was on since last week-it should get better.

AMC Casting Scoop

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

As per SOD- Stacy Haiduk will return as Hannah Nichols on Sept.14, 2007.

We will presumably find out whether Zach slept with her or not before she left town in May. I love that they will address this so soon, rather, than waiting ten months to see if she returns with child.

Friday 7/27/07- General Hospital

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Diane is such a good character, she deserves a contract; there are so many possibilities for her character. They could pair her with Ric, two strong attorneys that share a relationship with Sonny, they could be a strong couple. But then again, he’ll probably destroy the relationship like he has done to countless women such as Alexis. Actually now that I think of it, it would be interesting if she paired up with Scotty, now that is a hot couple.

I am really enjoying Sonny’s relationship with Kate, she brings such a good part out in Sonny that no other woman does. It is because she knew him when he was an innocent kid instead of this refuted gangster, she knows the Sonny he really does not want to show to the world. I wish they were on every day, they are a must see couple.

What was that whole Elizabeth telling Jake about his real father, a baby does not care who its father is- he just wants to be loved by the people taking care of him. Lucky has been there from day one taking care of Jake, giving him all the love that he needs and in my book that qualifies as being a great father. I cannot wait for little Cameron to overhear his mother and tell his daddy the whole truth and finally take Toxic Liz down.

Today’s show was not overtly impressive but it did show some good, natural drama and I was not deterred; nice job GH and ABC overall for three wonderful hours five times a week-this week.

Friday 7/27/07- One Life to Live

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Of all the actors that I saw on today’s show, the one that stood out was Eddie Alderson(Matthew), he displayed such a maturity and range, especially in his scenes with Cole. I hope he goes the route of his acting sister and is raised naturally on OLTL, instead of SORASing because this kid has got the room to become a great character and a highly respected actor.

Although the OPP story has been on full speed, it was ironic that Vincent saved Tate from dying. I like when the ending is a prison sentence, because then there won’t be the stupid back from the dead storylines that defy the bounds of reality. He’ll serve time behind bars like any other terrorist in the real world will.

This Spencer murder mystery is heating up and I have a theory that has a possibility of occuring. I think that he was murdered by multiple people, ala Murder on the Orient Express, several stabbed him once and with each one that came, he slowly started to die. But for that to happen they will have to have many rewrites that would confuse viewers, so who knows.

The show lately has not been all that bad, it’s just that the presentation is not up to par; that could be explained by a transition of head writers. Otherwise it has the possibility of going back to its caliber of a top show on daytime television.

Friday 7/27/07- All My Children

Friday, July 27th, 2007

The most best part of today’s show was when Erica was on full blast, berating Greenlee for her actions and turning on Jack for defending her. I liked that she knew, without a doubt, she was trying to kidnap Spike. She would know how that felt because of her own past kidnapping of Maddie; she knows that feeling of desperation.

Zack is such a great husband to Kendall, when other couples falter on this show Zendall really makes up the load of romance that sometimes is lacking. In a short amount of time, in soap opera terms, they have already grown to the heights of a super-couple that will have a mighty staying power.

I cannot believe it took until now for Ryan to realize that Greenlee cannot be around Spike. Like ,duh, Ryan when she tried to sue for custody-that should have been the indicator, I wish some of these characters would use their brain once in awhile.

Otherwise this show is improving and more episodes like the ones this week are an indicator of good days ahead for AMC.

Wednesday 7/25/07- General Hospital

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

I love today how Diane told Carly off, I hope her character sticks around for a while because she is really rubbing off me. She handles herself well in scenes with Sonny, Carly, Jason, and even Ric. Her facial expressions are great and she tells it like it is, which always makes for a great character.

Although I wanted the Nikolas scenes today, he seemed a little out of place. It seems the writers do not know what direction his character should go. Him playing the overprotective big bro was nice, but give this gifted actor a decent storyline to drive, his Emmy nominations prove he can act out some good storyline.

There is no way I can enjoy the character of Elizabeth anymore, she is so destructive to the show. That poor baby has to be brought into this mess and Lucky has to endure the pain of basically losing his family. It wouldn’t hurt TPTB to write in a coma for Elizabeth in which she is out for at least a year, then have Alcazar have faked his death and then Jason can raise his son; he’ll make a great father.

The catfight between Carly and Sam was so worthwhile, it was long overdue for both of them. It looked like Sam was winning until it was interrupted, she is turning into such a better woman. We are seeing a Sam that we really don’t see anymore and I love every little bit of it.

Today was fine, not a moment to miss.

Wednesday 7/25/07- One Life to Live

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Man oh man, does Michael look guilty; the you know what is gonna hit the fan when they find out Tommy’s paternity. He’ll probably be the one to spill the beans, wanting the right the huge wrong that he made. I could see a huge custody battle going on between the Mannings and McBains; the whole town divided on who should win-should make for some good drama.

It was so nice to see Viki in scenes with her brother, whom she didn’t give a damn if he was missing or even dead. Is it that hard to get Viki just at least as concerned for Todd as she was for her Jessie. She has the money to hire people to search for him, why not do it-that was a huge flaw in that storyline.

Looks like there will be a quick resolution to the David story, being that his last airdate is tomorrow. It is a shame because I was looking forward to him sticking around as the resident source of comic relief in Llanview.

Although I hate the OPP storyline, now that there is more action I was not turned away, I actually watched it. Chris Beteem does not do evil particularly well and that is what is killing this storyline. Maybe I am liking it because it is ending fast, who knows?

Wednesday 7/25/07- All My Children

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Today’s episode was very pleasant and there was not one thing that I did not like. There were no unnecessary scenes that could make me want to puke, overall it was nice the show is doing a fine job of telling a daytime drama lately. I was just informed that today’s episode was the new head writer’s first episode and I have to say it is well done.

I loved how Erica gave Kendall the speech about Kane women, it was so touching to see her mention Mona. I felt so sorry for Kendall/Ian/Spike and everyone else involved; this is how you tell a dramatic storyline that is very interesting. I really feel for these characters, they brought me with them on their roller coaster of emotion.

It was also nice to see Adam do the right thing, by saving Ava; even in the bad condition he is in right now. What I didn’t enjoy is that Jonathan just jumped on Adam, without knowing the full facts. Jonathan is becoming a very annoying character, AMC could really do without the Jonathan character permanently.

Today was another good Greenlee day-she showed she genuinely loved Spike and that she is very sorry for her actions. This is the event in Greenlee’s life that completely change her forever, I’ve been waiting for her to have an epiphany.

Overall, not bad AMC-very good in writing, directing, acting, and production; this show is, in my opinion, the most interesting show in daytime, at the moment.
