I should have made a post about this earlier because this in fact is a historical moment for Daytime drama. It at last had the first gay kiss on ATWT between Luke and Noah and that is will have cultural impact. With All My Children showcasing the first same-sex lesbian kiss on daytime, I am glad but disappointed that it took so long. LBGT people aren’t really represented fairly on soap operas and that is a shame. Well here is the video for everyone to watch.

The week started off great for ABC soaps but then it ended horribly, but at least all of ABC’s soaps gained- which is very impressive. GH should be jockeying for 2nd position and by November Sweeps, I wouldn’t surprised if they were second alone. Now I’m not discounting Bold and the Beautiful and the hot streak they’ve been on, it’s just that it boils down to consistency in which their’s is questionable.

Jax has been tortured relentlessly for awhile and all you have to do is be angry with him for doing something to save his life? It’s something that he isn’t proud of and you of all people should know how that feels. When things happen like this in her relationships, she can’t help but focus on herself instead of consoling her husband. When she was talking with Jason, it would have been nice if she focused on his troubles that keep piling up.

Trevor’s relationship with Kate is more reminiscent of today’s relationships but it just seems weird. He will be the next new crime boss of Port Charles and I can’t wait until he either gets killed off or leaves town, it is nice that Ric gets more family in town but Sonny is all the family that I want now. His father was a bad man and men like that do not stick around for a while, they end up dead, but you never know what could happen?

The secret agreement between Maxie and Logan is killing me because it needs to be revealed. It’s just a setup for them to get so close and then they’ll be together when it’s revealed and the dust settles. After she is privy to the secret agreement, LuLu should kick him to the curb- but this is LuLu we’re talking about now.

Those were the only parts to note for today, the Nikolas stuff was bland at best. Here’s to a better show tomorrow!

John is so very determined to fry Lindsay and the strange thing is that he’s more adamant about her serving time more than Nora. If there was anyone who would love for her be in the situation, it would be Nora and John should just not get too involved. I know that Spencer challenged him to solve it and John always rises to a challenge, but it seems way too fanatical. The fact that Nora has moved on, from the past, is great because her character is developing and she isn’t the typical static soap character. I’m very interested to see what direction this new head writer has for the conclusion of this very long storyline.

So this week is the beginning of the whole Tommy custody storyline when finally, Todd will find out. I am very fearful that this will all be about Todd being deceived and not to mention this child is a product of male-rape, instead of about Tommy’s welfare. He only know Mike and Marcie as his parents, why confuse him even more. Just because he is your flesh and blood doesn’t mean you have every right to uproot him and raise him. Please Ron Carlivati make them think about the child and what’s best for him.

What a fool Clint is with his money, he’s giving it to people like it’s candy- I know he is nice and all but come on Nash is just mooching off of you. Then you let Dorian bet 10 million of your money and not to mention the money he almost gave to David. This guy needs to be more restraining to his finances, although he can afford it, he just seems like a fool. The best part was that Nash was too late to buy back his share in the vineyard- it may be his dream, but it most certainly is not Jessica’s, she’s loaded.

Other than that, Dorian was funny today and the budding romance between Tonio and Talia is heating up and I really don’t have a feel for them yet. It was a well rounded show with a nice ending with Miles telling Blair the truth, good days ahead!

One downside of today’s Greenlee scenes was that it was very painful to watch but the one upside was that she bonded with her father. I know pain pills do have that adverse effect, especially after my surgery, but I would have never acted like Greenlee- she sounded more like she was drunk. Sabine Singh (Greenlee) really played those scenes very strangely, it could have gone better.

I have to say that the Zach/Ian scenes today were so well done. He conveyed his own emotions so well in dealing with his son’s struggle to survive. The way he went from scared to death to being in a joyous mood was so wonderful to watch. I have to say that it seemed peculiar that he had to take his shirt off, but it seemed really legitimate and I applaud AMC for being so medically correct.

This Dr. Hilliard character is looking to be a scam artist- if he didn’t have anything to hide, then he should entertain that background check. It hurts to see, even though it is only a soap, that he is taking advantage of this child and his family. The sad truth is that it happens more times in real life- it’s a harsh reality. What cements that theory also is that in the near future Erica will recognize Dr. Hilliard from the past- but the question is how?

The other stuff was blah, I wasn’t really fawning over this Ava storyline, I could really care less in the long run. There were some high points and some lows but they still managed to pull off a decent show.

All My Children star Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery) is joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars, which is in it’s fifth season. He will pair up with a professional dancer, as will 11 other celebrities. They include entertainer Wayne Newton, actress Jennie Garth from Beverly Hills 90210, actress Jane Seymour, entertainer Marie Osmond, model Albert Reed, model Josie Maran, actress Sabrina Bryan, Melanie Brown(Scary Spice of the Spice Girls), Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, racer Helio Castroneves, and boxer Floyd Mayweather.

In addition to this, he works full time with All My Children, a regular correspondent for EXTRA, and hosts the reality show I Want to Be a Soapstar- now that’s what you call multitasking.

Another OLTL star has joined an ABC Primetime show, in addition to Tuc Watkins (David Vickers) joining Desperate Housewives, Trevor St. John (Todd Manning) will be joining Dirty Sexy Money as the dead father of Peter Krause’s character, Nick George. St. John will appear as Nick’s dead father in flashbacks scenes. The events surrounding his charater’s death will be one of the show’s beginning storylines. The primetime drama, which centers around the lives of Manhattan’s wealthy Darling family, stars Donald Sutherland as the family patriarch, Tripp Darling. No first airdate has been given, however, the role is recurring.

Trevor denies Sonny’s accusations, claiming he’s merely in town to help his girlfriend, Kate. Ric and Trevor come face to face. Jason confronts Sam for hiring the men to terrorize Elizabeth. Sam refuses to show remorse. Sam is shattered when Jason threatens to kill her if she ever acts against Elizabeth. Amelia tries to push Jason toward Elizabeth and warns him he could very well end up alone. Jax is disillusioned by his brother and tries to give Carly the assurances she seeks. Nikolas invokes the Cassadine name and threatens to destroy Russell’s career and reputation when he hears him reprimanding Emily at the hospital. Logan puts the brakes on making love with Lulu after spotting Maxie hiding in the closet. Maxie blackmails Logan into having sex with her after accusing him of having real feelings for Lulu. Sonny is dangerously close to spinning out of control after seeing Kate kiss Trevor, and he takes his anger out on Jason.

Lindsay offers no resistance when John arrests her for Spencer’s murder. Michael is a bundle of nerves, as he and an incredulous Marcie watch as Lindsay is led away in handcuffs. Marcie is outraged that Lindsay is being accused of murder and is certain her friend is innocent. Miles returns to Natalie with the news that Todd’s baby is alive and closer than anyone realizes. Nash lies to Jessica and doesn’t mention losing his money — and possibly controlling interest in the vineyard — in the poker game. Antonio accepts Jared’s offer to buy his share of the vineyard. Sarah swallows her pride and takes a job as a waitress at Capricorn. Alone with Blair, Miles stuns her with the news that Tommy McBain is really T.J. Manning. John tries to head Blair off at the pass when he learns she’s on her way to tell Todd the truth about Tommy. Blair’s heart goes out to Marcie when she realizes what the future has in store for her. Blair tells Todd the truth about Tommy.

Annie gets a disturbing delivery of a watch with a note attached referring to an upcoming anniversary. A tough Annie warns her father to get the person sending her the threatening messages to stop, or she’ll take matters into her own hands again. A reluctant Jack agrees to co-host Erica’s new talk show. The attraction between Jack and Erica is palpable, as he makes an addendum to his contract and inserts a clause promising they will enjoy intimate relations. Greenlee gets a new insight into Aidan when he cryptically mentions a tragic incident from his days in Special Ops. Dr. Hilliard is swayed by Kendall’s emotional appeal for him to take Spike on as a patient and agrees to treat him. Dr. Hilliard gives Kendall special vitamins to give to Spike. Everyone gathers at the Comeback to throw Tad a surprise birthday party. Tad sneaks in unnoticed at his own surprise event but is soon the center of attention. Krystal makes Tad see how his party is helping everyone who loves him. Tad and Krystal are both shocked when they end up in a kiss.

It is very interesting how they are integrating Trevor Lansing into the show, not only was he Ric’s father but also Kate’s boyfriend. How very interesting how they connect Kate in another way to Sonny, I guess it really is a small world. He does seem a little too old for her but hey there have been great age difference couples. It looks like Sonny and Trevor will be “business” rivals- I am looking forward but please oh please do not make Trevor so evil that it will spawn another stupid whodunit murder mystery.

This Irina mess needs to end now, it is torture to be subjected to that storyline, with that fake accent and the relentless torturing of Jax. And it was fun seeing Carly just tear Irina up for what she is, I would have loved to see them get down and fight-none of this hostage business. Please GH writers I implore you to find other possibilities for Jerry/Carly/Jax instead of this international intrigue crap - come on be creative.

Sam is very pathetic and lame but I applaud her for trying to get revenge. I don’t particularly like the way that she goes about it but it was needed. Now Lucky will be her bodyguard- and trust me he didn’t have to think too hard about it. He is so tempted now to carry on a sexual relationship with her, maybe Sam will fall in love with Lucky. It would just kill Liz to see them two happy together as a couple.

Mission: Eli Love is completed and I couldn’t be any happier- what a lame storyline to put Finola Hughes in and dual roles are getting tiring. There have been too many dual roles on daytime and many that are not related but look identical, I guess that is just one staple of soap operas that will just not go away. Another exit for Anna but hey I’m still holding out hope that next time she comes back it will be with Robert and there will be some real good action in store.

I enjoyed this episode other than the Irina mess and the Eli Love stuff it was a tolerable show. With stories wrapping up, the newer storylines seem to jump out at me, it will be must see tv for the fall.

So, as evident of today, the curse lives on and another Woman of the Year was brought down. Lindsay will soon be arrested for murdering Spencer Truman, many will scratch their heads wondering why but I think making her the killer was genius. I’m glad they didn’t go one direction and blame it on Marcie- she has no idea who Tommy’s real parents are. I like it that Lindsay would have killed because she found out about Tommy- she doesn’t want Marcie’s family torn apart because of him. I wonder how she will get out of this mess and with Nora as the DA- I hope she goes easy on her.

So it is looking like this Jared guy was a past acquaintance of Tess and that’s why they have him in scenes with Nash so early. It will be a setup for the future where Nash and Jared will battle for Jessica’s heart. I just hope that Tess does not reemerge, she should not until much later the time is just not right for Tess to show. Jared will be a partner in the vineyard and it seems, an unbearable force in Nash and Jessica’s lives. I like when a con man comes to town and tries to shake it up-especially one with a mystery, I am intrigued to see what he’ll do next.

Miles better think of how he will live his life in Llanview rather than trying to make up to Todd. There’s no changing Todd’s mind-even if you do find some way to help him, he’ll treat you like dirt because of the past. You can’t get off the hook where it concerns Todd unless deep down he feels that too. He lives to expose and manipulate people, so Miles take Natalie’s advice and get over it already.

I liked today’s show, it had so much drama but it failed in comparison to other Woman of the Year ceremonies because this year you expected Lindsay to get ruined. I do have to credit the writers for making it someone I would have never suspected, good job!

My oh my, Tad sure did look ridiculous today in that blue blazer. Where did he find that horrible piece of clothing, I don’t even think my grandfather would even wear that. I can’t even give a time period for when that was even in- great job wardrobe department. And before you tease Aidan relentlessly, please Tad get with the times fashion-wise.

So Today Ryan threatened Greenlee with a restraining order, I understand why but, oh I don’t know your wife works for Greenlee. It would be kind of hard for Greenlee to leave your wife alone because they work together. He was so quick to just dismiss Annie’s opinion in the matter, what a jerk. Now it seems like she would have to quit her job just to satisfy the great, almighty Ryan. I did not hear him once show concern for his wife’s health, only asking Greenlee why the hell she was there. Trust me it looks like Greenlee is pigeon feed compared to this person that is harassing Annie and she fears this person much more than Greenlee.

So Ava is starved for fame-like she’s gonna get it at that ho-hum bar, The Comeback. Go to Confusion or some other famous place in Pine Valley or better yet to NYC. There would be a string of paparazzi lining up to snap pictures of her out at the club. So they got their headline grabber- Superstar Ava kisses girlfriend out at second-rate bar in Pine Valley. So she wants to be like Paris, Britney, and Lindsay- great this is so much like a ripped from the headlines storyline in every way. It’s funny seeing Amanda follow her every move like she’s her keeper- it should be a fun storyline.

I was not that interested in the Kendall/Zach scenes today, they just did not interest me at all. Other than that, I really did not like today’s show mostly for Ryan, I feel no sympathy for that man at all.

Here are the Fall Preview for OLTL from Headwriter Ron Carlivati per Soap Opera Digest, they seem very interesting especially the one about Viki-what is to become of her when she comes back. I also would pay close attention to the last one because it might entail a past cast member, once again, reprising their role or maybe both.

Todd/Marcie/Michael/Tommy: “There will be a huge battle between Todd and Marcie and Michael for Tommy. There will definitely be big consequences for Michael and Marcie’s marriage.”

Miles/Marty: “Basically, they’re both going to be sort of rebuilding their lives. In the fall, we’ll see whether or not Miles can be redeemed, and if Marty can rebuild her life. John and Natalie will be in the middle of that as well.”

Lindsay: “Lindsay has been caught as Spencer’s killer, so that will be a big situation, and you’ll see Will rushing to his mother’s side pretty immediately after this all starts to blow up.”

Viki: “After Viki’s departure at the end of the 10,000th episode, we’re going to spend a couple months wondering exactly what has become of Viki. Her children will eventually start to get some e-mails from her, but maybe not everything that is being said in the e-mails is exactly what it appears to be. When we have her back in the fall, we’ll see exactly what happened to her from the moment she left the canvas.”

Newcomers: “Jared definitely has a fascination with Asa and wants to follow in Asa’s footsteps, but he also has a past connection with one of our Buchanan twins, Jessica or Natalie–I’m not going to say which one. Hunt Block’s new character, Lee, is going to be really interesting because he’ll be involved in two big cases that are going to affect a lot of different people on our canvas.”

David/The Buchanans: “There will be some payoff with David finding out he’s the Buchanan heir. We know that Nigel knows about David and then we’ll find out that two other people, Max and Alex, both know, so they’re sort of the wild cards in this situation will blow up and David will come back.”
