General Hospital Weekly Preview: Oct. 1-5

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Diane unloads on Trevor when he smugly tells Sonny that he had Kate fired from “Couture.” Diane clashes with Alexis over which one of them should handle Lucky and Elizabeth’s divorce. The tension between Lucky and Elizabeth increases as they argue about lawyers and reopen old wounds. Lulu refuses to forgive Logan. After realizing he lost a chunk of time, Nikolas admits to Emily that something is wrong with him. Robin is having a hard time getting over Patrick. DNA tests prove Scott and Logan are father and son. Carly admits to Jason that she doesn’t think Johnny killed Leticia, but she later warns Lulu to stay away from Johnny at all costs. Lulu tells Johnny she wants nothing to do with him, but her actions later belie her words. Her heart broken by Coop, Maxie appears at Logan’s door looking for revenge. Skye eavesdrops as Trevor orders Ric to find someone to pin Leticia’s murder on and leave Johnny’s name out of it.

SNEAK PEEK
: Nikolas turns violent.

This storyline with Nikolas is very fresh, I am very invested into what is happening to this Dark Prince. Trevor is really showing his true colors to everyone especially Kate and thankfully she now sees this side to him. Skye pops up this week, I was really beginning to think TPTB were going to slowly faze her out. Scott is Logan’s father, like there was any question- their mannerisms, voice and physical looks are very alike, what a great casting job Mark Teschner!

One Life to Live Weekly Preview: Oct. 1-5

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

ONE LIFE TO LIVE
: Blair backs up Todd’s claim that they married out of love but finds herself on the hot seat when Judy begins to question her. On the witness stand, Starr gives a heartfelt plea as to how great her parents are, but Judy is quick to point out the flaws in their family. Will runs into Addie when he goes to St. Ann’s to visit Lindsay, who remains unresponsive. Nora wonders if Lindsay could be faking her breakdown. Lindsay seems to recognize Bo when he and Nora visit her at St. Ann’s. Langston becomes defensive when Markko questions her about her absentee parents. Michael perjures himself on the witness stand when he testifies he didn’t know Tommy was Todd’s son until recently. Marcie learns that Michael knew about Tommy’s parentage for a very long time. John and Marty kiss and continue to grow closer. Dorian realizes Langston is living alone. Miles tells Natalie that she’s taught him what true friendship is all about.

SNEAK PEEK: Todd wins.

I love how the writers have written Miles and Natalie as a genuine friendship, instead of instantly putting them in bed together, a job well done. Will Marcie turn her husband in for perjury, I don’t think so but Marcie doesn’t do well with keeping secrets, so let’s wait and find out. Todd wins, now that was a curveball- I wonder what will be the deciding factor, maybe Todd bought off the whole court, who knows?

All My Children Weekly Preview: Oct. 1-5

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

ALL MY CHILDREN
: Zach agrees to fund J.R.’s business venture on the condition that J.R. gets Greenlee to sign away her shares. J.R. make Greenlee believe that some of the embryos from the clinic survived the blackout and that there’s a chance she could have Ryan’s baby after all. Babe continues to bond with Wes and has no idea he’s really Ritchie. Jonathan overwhelms Ava when he suddenly proposes to her. Erica tells Kendall she has to stop her. Krystal and Hannah start to form a friendship. Hannah later seeks out Zach and admits she lied to him. Ian continues to make strides, and Kendall is allowed to feed him for the first time. Hannah tells Zach she suffered a breakdown after they parted ways the last time. Kendall arrives to see Hannah in Zach’s arms. Hannah and Josh make love. “Wes” tell Babe he wishes he had a better relationship with his sister. Babe is unaware that “Wes” is really Annie’s ne’er-do-well brother, Ritchie. Annie comes face to face with “Wes.” Krystal is affected by Adam’s heartfelt apology.

SNEAK PEEK: Aidan and Ryan face jail time.

J.R. and Zach have gotten even lower, lying to Greenlee in that way- I know they want her out of town but that is just cruel. Hannah is going to befriend Erica, now that is a more powerful duo than when she pairs up with Adam. Jonathan proposes to Ava, Zzz- I will be sleeping through those scenes. “Wes” dominates the week, that could get very interesting.

Timbaland to Perform on OLTL

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Rapper-Producer Timbaland will make his debut on One Life to Live on October 9th performing “The Way I Are” along with Keri Hilson and OneRepublic. This is not the first time that One Life to Live has hosted a musical mega star, in the past two years Mary J. Blige and Nelly Furtado have stopped in. Here is the full article:

The long-running One Life to Live goes hip-hop and rap when music industry heavyweight, Timbaland, makes his soap opera debut on the show. The rapper-producer is set to guest star on the series apart from performing his recent hit, “The Way I Are.

Timbaland will entertain loyal viewers of One Life to Live on October 9, with a small acting part in that day’s episode, along with a couple of musical numbers.

He will perform “The Way I Are and “Apologize from his latest album, Timbaland Presents Shock Value, together with Keri Hilson and OneRepublic. In the One Life to Live installment, a girl by the name of Sara Roberts approaches the character Christine Vega in hopes of securing a job placement at the fictional club of Capricorn.

“This is a new experience for me,â€? Timbaland admitted in a statement. “I am looking forward to having a great time and sharing my music!”

While it may be a novel experience for the artist, it is not the first time that the soap has invited singers and incorporated performances into the storylines. Prior to Timbaland’s appearance, One Life to Live had already featured other big-name musical acts like Simply Red, Erykah Badu and Mary J. Blige.

For his part, One Life to Live executive producer, Frank Valentini told Allhiphop.com that “Timbaland has made a vast contribution to the music industry as an artist and producer. I am a huge fan of his music and we look forward to him appearing on our show.”

General Hospital and One Life to Live both had a good week, while All My Children stayed in it's current funk. I really think that All My Children is capable of being a top three show, if it tells storylines that we can invest time into. There is no surprise with GH and OLTL- they are rising above other daytime dramas; they are telling the best stories now. DOOL will have to settle for worst soap- the crap that is being dished out each and every week needs a makeover fast.

AMC: Wed. 9/26- Father and Daughter

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

0907_037.jpg

I really loved Adam and Colby’s scenes today, they were the best all year- you can basically see Adam’s vulnerable side. David Canary knocked it out of the park, he is such a good actor and it shows. Adam has always loved his kids but he seems to always push them away so it seems as if he doesn’t love them- but he loves them with all of his heart. Colby has come a far way too; she has evolved into a character that is finally likable and loved in Pine Valley and by the viewers. Now these scenes are great examples of father-daughter bonding- not Colby bonding with Tad, who in no form is her father.

Greenlee and Aiden are a formidable duo; they were very cute today, with her posing as a criminal’s widow. She sure channeled the kind of woman that she truly is and that must have been fun as an actor. Jack busted them at the end though, I really thought they could get away with it- but Jack’s investigative mind kicked in.

I was very creeped out by Annie today- using a knife to slit Ritchie’s throat instead of a gun. I can understand with all the kids in their home, why they wouldn’t want to possess a gun but she seemed very deadly with a knife. She seemed like she knew how to handle a knife well; I wouldn’t want to get her angry, Ryan, if I were you. She is really turning out to be a crazy woman, gradually but surely that crazy woman will come to the surface.

Krystal has got it bad for Adam and she can’t even admit it, she wants him back. Stop these games you are playing with Tad and tell Adam how you really feel. There is still room for forgiveness; God knows almost everyone has forgiven you for your indiscretions in the past. Just give him a chance, Adam really has a loving nature about him under that tough business-centered attitude.

The band kids and whatnot was not interesting- they bored me so much that I had no interest to watch their scenes. I like that Sean has a passion to invest in this group but otherwise, I am not interested at all.

GH: Tue. 9/25- SPIN Me Around

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

0907_030.jpg

Spinelli needs to open his eyes to other options because clearly LuLu’s interested in either Johnny or Logan. They would be so good together but that Dylan cloud is hanging over her- I’m sure he’ll come back sometime soon, either by recast or reprisal. He invited her to stay over Jason’s, and she just walks all over him most of the time. This bitch needs to learn to be more self-sufficient and get a job and work her way up the ladder. Now that would be a storyline worth watching- going through the daily, hard grind like the rest of us.

Liz is another one on my hate list- JUST TELL LUCKY HE’S NOT JAKE’S FATHER! She had many, many opportunities to tell him, time is running out- the secret’s been kept too long. He will totally disown her after it all comes out- I am so sick of Liz. This is so much great material for Greg Vaughan (Lucky) rather than for Rebecca Herbst (Liz)- I see so many layers in the scenes that he shares with GH’s fine actors and actresses. If he isn’t at least nominated next year, I will be surprised and disappointed in the Blue Ribbon panel.

I love my girl, Maxie, she tells it like it is and I LOVE characters like that. It’s like she is in the same vein as us, the viewers, she’s absolutely amazing. She even upstages LuLu in her scenes; Kirsten Storms (Maxie) has totally transformed Maxie into a love to hate character and I love her for that. She is the best younger actor on the show- the best ever since Jonathan Jackson left all those years ago.

OLTL: Tue. 9/25- Why Nora?

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

0907 026_1.jpg

I am really asking myself, “Why in the world is Nora prosecuting in Lindsay’s case?” It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever given the history between the two, which all of Llanview knows of. I believe Dorian has no right to blame Nora for Lindsay’s breakdown, if she had one- she’s just the punching bag until Viki returns. In my humble opinion, Lindsay is faking this whole breakdown mess to either miss prison time or protecting someone else, like Marcie. The ultimate twist would be that Spencer did something to Lindsay, like say that he raped her instead of Blair, in his hallucinogenic state. If there is not a twist in this storyline, then I will not be interested at all- surprise us for a change.

About time for a Nigel sighting, I think he should be a more prominent character in Llanview- he can get back with Roxy, they were always a fun duo. Why in the world is he still serving the Buchanans, without Asa he seems out of place there. I heard from ABC Soaps In Depth magazine that Phil Carey (Asa) was spotted on set taping scenes for OLTL, so is he dead or not?

Justice in the OLTL world is so confusing, why did Jared get two years for his first offense of breaking and entering- my head is spinning. Afterall, there are murderers, rapists, thieves and whatnot roaming the streets of Llanview, so I must not be so surprised.

It was so refreshing to see David Fumero (Cristian) act very well today. Seeing him reeling from witnessing Lindsay’s breakdown was so realistic, I have to give him props for that. Cristian has such an interesting relationship with Lindsay, with her exploiting him and then they gradually grew to love and respect each other through his art. It was just precious today and I will mark this down as one of Fumero’s strongest performances.

What oh what could Langston be hiding, I wonder what happened to them. I don’t think they are dead but lately we haven’t heard about casting for them so maybe they are among the departed. I would love for her to be related to Starr, maybe a Cramer but even better if she was a Lord. It would be crazy if Victor was her father, wasn’t he alive until 2003- that would make her Starr’s aunt, crazier things have happened in this crazy town of Llanview.

General Hospital Weekly Preview: Sept. 24-28

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

GENERAL HOSPITAL
: Trevor threatens Ric’s life when Ric get confirmation of his connections to Zacchara. Jerry makes it clear to Jax and Carly that they aren’t safe on Sonny’s island. Jax vows to protect his family, and he and Carly decide to return to Port Charles with the boys. Lulu chooses to move in with Jason and Spinelli, and later gets a message from Johnny. Jason confesses to Elizabeth that several people know the truth about him being Jake’s father and that Sam is one of them. Jason also tells Elizabeth all about Sam’s misdeeds and explains why she’ll keep their secret. Carly crosses the line when she forbids Jason to get involved with Elizabeth. Lucky and Elizabeth decide their marriage is over. Elizabeth plans to raise her sons as a single mother. Kate receives a sentence of community service to be carried out at the hospital. Jerry taunts Nikolas when he confronts him. Georgie asks Spinelli what he’ll do if Lulu never falls in love with him. Nikolas violently attacks Logan and later admits to Alfred that he’s been having blackouts.

SNEAK PEEK: Nikolas scares Emily.

Liz is making a very extreme decision to raise her children as a single mother, single motherhood is seldom showcased on soap operas, let alone General Hospital. Nikolas is getting these violent outbursts, could the dark prince be coming out to play? All this rage that has built up in the past years is finally being shown on the surface or maybe Nik is harboring a split personality. Kate has to serve her community service at General Hospital- that’s where all of them serve community service- why not a homeless shelter or cleaning up a park.

One Life to Live Weekly Preview: Sept. 24-28

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

ONE LIFE TO LIVE
: Jessica is forced to confess to Nash about how she slept with Jared and then framed him as a thief and had him sent to prison. Jared warns Jessica that she’s going to pay for what she did to him. Jessica, Nash and Natalie try to explain to Jared that Tess, not Jessica, is the woman who set him up — but he isn’t buying it. Jared blackmails Jessica, warning he’ll turn her over to the police unless Natalie gives him an executive position at Buchanan Enterprises. Markko wonders why Langston’s parents are never around. John apologizes to Natalie, and they clear the air as they rekindle their friendship over a game of pool. Cristian is more affected by Sarah moving out than he anticipated. Adriana and Layla share a tearful goodbye when it’s time for Adriana to leave for Rex’s. Marcie is unnerved by Todd’s confidence. Miles is sincere in his desire for Marty to be happy, even if it is with John. Marty is clearly attracted to John. Clint invites Nora and Matthew to move into the mansion permanently. Talia backs herself into a corner when she agrees to introduce Antonio to George, her mythical boyfriend. To help Todd win the custody suit, Blair agrees to marry him — but her “I do” costs Todd a lot of money.

SNEAK PEEK: Marcie learns Michael’s secret.

What a nice nod to history for Natalie and John, when John came on the scene- he was undercover as a pool shark with the FBI. Talia sure got herself into a sticky situation with Antonio, hopefully she can come clean to him so they can finally be a couple. Todd and Blair marry for the 6th time or so- there better be a good payoff for this obvious plot device, they’re soulmates after all. Jared needs to forgive and forget, he’s looking better since leaving the clink, move on buddy.

All My Children Weekly Preview: Sept. 24-28

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

ALL MY CHILDREN
: Annie tells Ryan and Derek that the John Doe in the morgue isn’t her brother Richie. Derek reveals that the dead man had been in prison with Richie. Tad admits to Joe that he’s not passionately in love with Krystal. Adam and Krystal can barely hide the attraction they feel for each other. Kendall keeps up the ruse of wanting to be friends with Greenlee. Erica insists on helping Kendall get her revenge on Greenlee. Ava tries to convince Jonathan to invest in J.R.’s proposed business venture. J.R. can’t keep his eyes off Ava. Hannah covers when Zach finds her snooping in his office. Josh remains suspicious of Hannah, but he later arrives at her room to make love. Krystal admits to Tad that she still has feelings for Adam, but she vows she won’t be pulled back to that cage on their date. Ava and J.R. flirt with each other, but he’s able to resist getting physical with her. J.R. comes up with a plan to get Ava released from her contract with Fusion. J.R. steams when Jonathan refuses to fund his new venture.

SNEAK PEEK: Anne comes face-to-face with Ritchie.

At first I thought Ritchie was dead, but it is looking like he is very much alive and in the form of bartender Wes. They might go the predicted route and make him the evil one- which will automatically tune me out. And what is Hannah up to; I cannot nail down her angle at all- maybe she has decided to take try and take Cambias Enterprises up from under him, now that would make a great storyline.

With All My Children and One Life to Live tying record low House Hold Ratings, the future of these soaps are in question. General Hospital can hold it’s own although it is performing less than stellar. It seems that the week starts off great and then the end of the week, they just fail miserably- there is great material written but they need to have storylines that will draw people in.

Christina Chambers (Marty Saybrooke) has been fired, no other information is available. I think that this is the case of an actress that just doesn’t fit into a re-casted role- she’s a fine actress and I am sure she can get another great acting gig.

AMC: Wed. 9/19- Big and Ritch

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

0907_026.jpg

So that person outside Ryan’s door today was supposed to be Ritchie but then again there is strong evidence that Annie is her own stalker. At least if Ritchie does come in the picture, it would make for some interesting scenes with Ryan or brother in law, Jonathan. It would be completely out of the box to have her stalking herself over guilt of her past crimes. She feels she needs to shelve the blame and responsibility onto another person, so in doing that she is completely devoid of fault and content with that. They need to do a sharp turn on this storyline or else it is doomed.

What was with Jonathan playfully referring to himself as a killer? His existence on this show is so faulty-he is a cold blooded killer and shouldn’t just make a joke out of it. How could those fine journalists be writing lies about him- the truth is written in stone, he is a killer. I will never forget that he killed off one of the most intelligent and loved character in Pine Valley’s history, Edmund Grey. I know that he had a brain tumor and really can’t be at fault, but he still has to have this rage inside of him that brings him to the brink of fatal violence. It is really difficult for me to ever have sympathy for Jonathan’s character and I think I never really will.

So Di came back for a special meeting to address Greenlee and Ava concerns. Thankfully, they are going to drop Ava and her antics, my only question is how come it took so long? This whole Pretty Woman storyline with Ava is getting old fast. They are so leaning in the direction of a Who’s the Daddy storyline with JR and Jon- just speed it up TPTB, I’m already getting disinterested.

I am mildly enjoying this new Hannah storyline- there are so many possibilities with her. She has a secret agenda and it will be fun in the coming months to find out what that is. Is she planning to ruin Zach’s marriage, his company, or maybe she will completely rid herself of anything Zach and start a new, fun life with someone else? Just don’t let that someone be Josh, she needs more than that junior boy scout, give her someone like Adam or bring back David Hayward- just imagine David and Hannah wrecking up Pine Valley, an unstoppable duo.

General Hospital Weekly Preview- Sept. 17-21

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

GENERAL HOSPITAL
: Kate is taken to the hospital, where it’s determined she has a high level of alcohol in her system — but she denies that she had a drink. Sonny is angry with Jason for questioning his orders and not killing Trevor. Lucky and Sam have no regrets after sleeping together. Emily encourages Jason to go after Elizabeth. Patrick bristles when he sees Robin with Jason. Maxie shatters Lulu’s happiness when she smugly tells her that she and Logan slept together. Trevor is unsettled to learn that Zacchara’s son Johnny is coming to Port Charles. Distraught after her break up with Logan, Lulu starts hitchhiking and is picked up by Johnny. Nikolas experiences another rage episode. Scott is sympathetic to Logan’s feelings over losing the one good thing in his life. Jason and Johnny end up in a potentially deadly standoff. Lulu explains to Jason that Johnny didn’t do anything to hurt her. Jax reunites with Carly and the boys on the island. Someone is watching Jax and Carly. Alexis finds herself on the receiving end of Nikolas’ rage.

SNEAK PEEK: Elizabeth and Lucky split up.

What a powerful week we have ahead, I especially like that Scott has sympathy for his son- their one good moment together. Nikolas is developing some sort of rage, I wonder what that is all about. Johnny Zacchara could prove to be a very pivotal character in the coming months, I wonder what he looks like. And finally Liz and Lucky break up- that was months in the making.
