GH: Sonya Eddy(Epiphany) Gets Contract

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Sonya Eddy, who joined General Hospital as the outspoken Nurse Epiphany in March 2006, is now on contract. “What I love about her is she’s a taskmaster,” says the actress. “She’s like one of those teachers you had in school who were very demanding and you couldn’t stand at the time, but looking back, you see the impact they had on your lives.” Wow, that surprised me a bit, never seemed like an important enough character, they must have a good story in mind for her.

Premiere of General Hospital: Night Shift

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

group5_45.jpg
Starting tonight, at 11 PM on SoapNet, is the premiere of the new spin-off drama of General Hospital, which is set during the night shift at General Hospital and will delve deeper into relationships and medical crisis going on a General Hospital. The Cast is as follows:

Billy Dee Williams as Toussaint Dubois
Steve Burton as Jason Morgan
Kimberly McCullough as Robin Scorpio
Jason Thompson as Patrick Drake
Kirsten Storms as Maxie Jones
Julie Marie Berman as Lulu Spencer
Rebecca Herbst as Elizabeth Spencer
Kent King as Lainey Winters
Jason Gerhardt as Coop Barrett
Josh Duhon as Logan Hayes
Lindze Letherman as Georgie Jones
Kiko Ellsworth as Stan Johnson
Sonya Eddy as Epiphany Johnson
Minae Noji as Kelly Lee
Bradford Anderson as Damian Spinelli
Adrian Alvarado as Cruz Rodriquez
Derk Cheetwood as Max Giambetti
Richard Gant as Russell Ford
Wendy Braun as Ms. Sneed
Amanda Baker as Jolene Crowell
Angel Wainwright as Regina Thompson
Nazanin Boniadi as Leyla Mir
Dominic Rains as Dr. Leo Julian
Ron Melendez as Dr. Andy Archer
Graham Shiels as Cody Paul
Alla Korot as Stacy Sloan

What intrigues me the most is the addition of Billy Dee Williams, because of his star status, he should bring something special to a role that is not so special. Tune in if your cable provider carries SoapNet, it should be a good drama to follow, giving airtime to people that aren’t given ample storyline on General Hospital. And starting tonight, I will give my own special recap on
GH: Night Shift, which will continue once every week.

Happy 60th Birthday Anthony Geary

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

anthony-geary1.jpgToday is Anthony Geary’s 60th birthday. We all know him as Luke. The half of the legendary Luke and Laura pair. A very well respected, admired and much loved actor by peers, co-workers and fans alike. 60th birthday, WOW. He doesn’t look like it. Still a wise-cracking intense with so many layers character Luke that we’ve all come to love. Happy Birthday Tony!

Apologies

Friday, May 4th, 2007

I haven’t had a chance to watch any of my soaps this week. My in-laws from New York are here for a visit. My dear MIL watches Days of Our Lives and that’s in another channel. I can’t very well go to our bedroom and watch my shows there. That would be rude. SoapNet is definitely off limits too since we all watch out primetime shows at night. So I’ve been watching DAYS with her. Anyhoooo, I promise to share with you my very opinionated recap for our favorite soaps in regular time next week. I might be able to do the Friday’s episodes, woohoo.

Is Annie and Ryan married yet? I hope not…LOL

How is Jessica?

Did Sonny and Amelia sleep together again?

It’s your turn to let me know :) .

I’ll be back, I promise.

All My Children : Friday

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

That waw the worst anti-climatic storyline I have ever seen. GreenLee whouls’ve made her appearance while Ryan was playing around with Emma and Annie. Or when Annie was caressing his face and told him she wants to make if official for him and his daughter. Adopt Emma. Or when Ryan was reading the final chapter of their Cinderella-ish book. But it didn’t happen the way I was expecting it to be.

At the 3 minutes of the episode, they showed her hands playing with her green butterfly brooch. Then some flashbacks. When she and Kendall ended up in a newspaper for opening up Fusion. And when Ryan gave her the butterfly.

I’m going to try to give this new GreenLee the benifit of the doubt but I didn’t feel any connection. Her voice sounded like Kendall. She didn’t ahve the depth that the original GreenLee had. When she spoke, you could feel what she trying to convey just by hearing her voice. Last Friday didn’t show that. Instead, it showed her too ordinary.

Sorry but that’s not the GreenLee I know. She’s very passionate. The girl I saw calling a travel agent for a one-way ticket to Pine Valley didn’t possess any of it. :(

Emmy Nomination

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

I wrote about the pre-nomination list but completely forgot to write about the nominations once after the announcement. Maybe because I felt ABC was once again shut out from everything? Oh Pox…haha. If you want to know who got nominated, visit my CBS counterpart ’s blog. Her soaps pretty much took all the nominations. :)

Emmy’s Pre-Nomination List

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

Soaps In Depth magazine posted the list for Emmy’s pre-nomination. Here are the ABC daytime actors who received their pre-nods.

Outstanding Lead Actress
AMC: Bobbie Eakes (Krystal), Alicia Minshes (Kendall)
GH: Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), Laura Wright (Carly)
OLTL: Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Bree Williamson (Jessica)

I hope Laura gets through to the final list. I think she gave the Carly Corinthos charater a much needed boost and more depth than anyone who had portrayed it. Nancy is probably a shoo in since she is currently in the middle of her Lung Cancer storyline.

Outstanding Lead Actor
AMC: Thorsten Kaye (Zach), Michael E Knight (Tad)
GH: Anthony Geary (Luke), Steve Burton (Jason)
OLTL: Michael Easton (John), Trevor St. John (Todd)

Now this is a little shocking. Maurice Bernard (GH, Sonny) did not get a pre-nod which is a disgrace in my opinion. His bipolar/depression storyline was awesome to watch. His characterization of this true-to-life story was very gritty and has really challenge his acting. Anthony is a very respected actor but I don’t think his storylines were notable last year. I mean I saw the same Luke doing things over and over again, as an absentee father. He was good, don’t get me wrong but Sonny’s storyline was better especially if it’s coming from his own life.

I’m kinda torn on who I want to get through and win. I like Steve (GH, Jason) but I also love Trevor’s portrayal of Todd (OLTL). They’re both great in my eyes. Now if Maurice was among the list as well, then I’ll definitely have a problem on which one I want to win :).

Outstanding Supporting Actress
AMC: Cady McClain (Dixie), Alexa Havins (Babe
GH: Genie Francis (Laura), Rebecca Herbst (Liz)
OLTL: Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline), Heather Tom (Kelly)

I hope Cady (Dixie, AMC), gets it. It will be the best *rub it in your face* revenge to the TPTB who callously killed off her charater. That whould teach them a lesson.

Outstanding Supporting Actor
AMC: Jeffrey Carlon (Zarf/Zoe), Jacob Young (JR)
GH: Ric Hearst (Ric), Jason Thompson (Patrick)
OLTL: Dan Gauthier (Kevin), Tuc Watkins (David)

Greg Vaughn (GH, Lucky) should have been among the list too. Drugs, and infidelity, come on.

Outstanding Younger Actress
AMC: Leven Rambin (Lily), Eden Riegel (Bianca)
GH: Julie Marie Berman (Lulu), Kirsten Storms (Maxie)
OLTL: Kristen Alderson (Starr), Melissa Gallo (Adrianna)

I want Julie (GH, Lulu) to win. Not only does she look like Genie as Laura, she has worked with so many veterans on the show and she carried herself so well. This girl can act.

Outstanding Younger Actor
AMC: Brent Weber (Sean), Michael B. Jordan (Reggie)
GH: Dylan Cash (Michael), Scott Clifton (Dillon)
OLTL: Eddie Alderson (Matthew), John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex)

Anyone of them can win. I’m really not interested with this category. Sorry.

GH’s Kimberly McCullough on The View

mccullough.jpg“Dr. Robin Scorpio” is going to be sitting in with the ladies of The View as a guest host tomorrow, Tuedsay. Don’t forget to watch :).

ALL MY CHILDREN SPOILERS

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

I’m still upset over the fact that they killed off my favorite character who happened to be my namesake(BOOOOOOOOO, TPTB), Dixie(i’m with an ‘e’). I’m still watching the show, but right now I’m too disappointed to share recaps with my opinions so I’m just going to post spoilers that I gathered from Soaps In Depth magazine. If you don’t want to know what happens next in Pine Valley, don’t click the link, but if I were you I would :).
