Ex-GHer Gets Busted For DUI!

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Sean Kanan (ex A.J. Quartermaine) was arrested on suspicion of DUI on August 18 in LA, he was charged and will go to court on September 17. This isn’t the first strike against him, he was convicted of DUI in 1998. Knowing how lax the court systems are on celebrities, he won’t serve too long but since it’s his 2nd strike- he is closely approaching that 3 strikes rule in CA. With him and Kirsten Storms (Maxie) in the news for their troubles with the law- I would hope that they pen a DUI focused PSA to warn young people of the legal and long-term consequences of such a crime.

GH: Kirsten Storms (Maxie) Arrested!

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

General Hospital starlet, Kirsten Storms, who plays schemer Maxie Jones, was arrested for driving under the influence by the California Highway Patrol. In the wee hours of Friday, Sept.7, she was spotted tossing a lit cigarette (a littering infraction) out the window of her Mercedes.

The officers then issued sobriety tests, which she ultimately failed, and she was booked at 4:26 AM that morning in Van Nuys. She was released eight hours later on $5,000 bail, pending an October court appearance in Van Nuys, according to the L.A. Sheriff’s Department.

GH: Kelly Monaco (Sam) Re-signs with the Show!

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Here is some great news on the fate of Kelly Monaco and it is good, she is staying on. I guess that means she isn’t the one to be murdered, so let’s cross her off that list. Unless her death is faked but then again that staple is so old in soaps and needs to be discontinued! Here is what was posted by Kelly’s boyfriend on her official board:

Kelly has agreed to terms on a contract with ABC that will allow her to contunue playing Sam Mc Call and pursue other opportunities. thank you to everyone who gave her support and respect during this process

GH: Annie Wersching (Amelia) Leaving for Greener Pastures

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

According to SOD online,Annie Wersching (Amelia) has been cast as Agent Renee Walker on 24. No word yet on if she will be recast. They could always bring back the other woman who played Amelia or she could be one of the upcoming casualties on GH. One thing I do wish is the best for her, this is a great opportunity!

GH: Sonya Eddy(Epiphany) Gets Contract

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Sonya Eddy, who joined General Hospital as the outspoken Nurse Epiphany in March 2006, is now on contract. “What I love about her is she’s a taskmaster,” says the actress. “She’s like one of those teachers you had in school who were very demanding and you couldn’t stand at the time, but looking back, you see the impact they had on your lives.” Wow, that surprised me a bit, never seemed like an important enough character, they must have a good story in mind for her.

Happy 60th Birthday Anthony Geary

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

anthony-geary1.jpgToday is Anthony Geary’s 60th birthday. We all know him as Luke. The half of the legendary Luke and Laura pair. A very well respected, admired and much loved actor by peers, co-workers and fans alike. 60th birthday, WOW. He doesn’t look like it. Still a wise-cracking intense with so many layers character Luke that we’ve all come to love. Happy Birthday Tony!

General Hospital : Brenda Barrett Recast

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

vanessa_marcil1.jpgSoaps In Depth compiled a list of possible actresses that could fill the empty chair that Vanessa Marcil left when she decided to leave her Brenda Barrett alter-ego and be Sam for that NBC primetime show called Las Vegas. I do want the Brenda character back. She is such an icon, pretty much, in Port Charles. The damn mob-infested town needs a feisty little thing called Brenda, hah.

*Vanessa’s picture from funmunch.com

rebecca_budig1.jpgFirst on the list is Rebecca Budig. I wholeheartedly agree. I loved her as Michelle in Guiding Light, and I absolutely loved her as Greenlee in All My Children. She is my one of my top picks to fill Vanessa’s shoes.

gina_tognoni.jpgGina Tognoni is my top pick also. I would’ve loved to see her spar with Laura Wright again since the latter used to play Cassie on Guding Light while Gina plays Dinah. But, sad to say, Gina is staying in Guiding Light :(.

Other actresses that made it on the SID list are :

Julianne Morris who sued to play Amy Wilson in Young and the Restless, and eventually place Greta in Days of Our Lives.

I don’t know about her. I don’t think she has the caliber of acting that Rebecca possess. Sorry.

Lauren Woodland who used to play a spoiled brat Brittany Hodges in Young and The Restless. I’m surprised she made the list. I was never impressed with her acting.

Charissa Chamorro who sued to play the psycho Tory Grainger in guiding Light and the con artist Sophia Pelligrino in OLTL. I might be able to live with her as a replacement but I don’t think she will be able to handle Lura Wright’s Carly. The latter will eat her alive.

Brenda is a strong-willed character who is always fighting with Carly because of Sonny. Now that she is married to Jax who by the way is also one of Brenda’s ex-love, the new actress should be able to stand on her own to stick it to Carly. In my opinion, Rebecca Budig is the best choice.
