Christina Chambers (Marty Saybrooke) has been fired, no other information is available. I think that this is the case of an actress that just doesn’t fit into a re-casted role- she’s a fine actress and I am sure she can get another great acting gig.

One Life to Live Weekly Preview: Sept. 17-21

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

ONE LIFE TO LIVE: Todd demands immediate custody of his son, but Judy shocks the courtroom with her claim that Todd is an unfit father who once tried to kill Tommy. Todd counters Judy’s charges when he explains how Margaret tortured him. Jessica can’t summon the courage to tell Nash the truth about her past with Jared. Jessica confesses to Natalie that Jared is blackmailing her. Nash confronts Jared after seeing Jessica’s photo on his cell phone. An emotional Talia tells Bo about her trip to New York City and the memories of 9-11 that she can’t escape. Will pleads with Nora to go easy on his mother and accuses her of being vindictive when she maintains that Lindsay needs to be punished for her crimes. Lindsay and Marcie bond. Sarah and Layla become roommates. Bo wants Matthew and Nora to move into Asa’s mansion. Rex blames himself for Marcie and Michael’s problems. Clint and Dorian’s romance flourishes.

SNEAK PEEK
: Miles wants Marty to be happy.

It’s nice for a change for Rex to feel guilty- another side of Rex’s character that is seldom seen. Nice to mention 9/11 especially after 6 years- may they all never be forgotten. And I don’t think the courts will go easy on a man that tried to kill his son, even if Margaret tortured him for months.

OLTL: Thu. 9/13- Custody Battle 101

Friday, September 14th, 2007

I have to give credit to Ron Carlivati for cleverly scripting a custody battle, using elements of the real world to make it work. Now only if they upped Todd’s maturity level, it would make for a very good storyline, I’m sort of tired of seeing immature, selfish Todd complain in public. He has every right to, he was deceived, but he should have really handled it like an adult.

Marty is just absolutely the most bland character on soaps, she is always grateful every day of getting out of the slammer. Yeah, we get it Marty, you could have spent your entire life behind bars, but as a psychiatrist, shouldn’t you get past it soon. If you all would notice, now, that Marty is slowly taking Evangeline’s place in Llanview, sans a few things- trust me Ron, make her her own woman, not Vangie 2.0.

What was with Michael saying to Todd about Tommy’s former foster parents- how the hell would he have known that, you didn’t even know the truth at the time. You cannot attack a guy for something that he would have no knowledge of. I just love that Rex is going to dig up some dirt on Todd, which means the rape and other crimes will come to light but does that make him an unfit parent? I would say no, he is great with his own kids; so I think he will win custody.

Jared is no longer a man of mystery, he shares a past with Tessica but isn’t he awfully cute when he has scenes with Natalie. If they were put together more, not in a romantic light, more like a bickering business rival sense then I would love to watch them every day. Jared also plays well off of Nash- its nice for a change to see Nash is scenes without Jessica- it integrates his character more.

One Life to Live Weekly Preview- Sept.10-14

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

ONE LIFE TO LIVE
: John tells Marcie that Todd is Tommy’s father and spins it to make it seem as though Michael is hearing this for the first time, too. Michael and Marcie hire Rex to smear Todd. Bo fears Lindsey could face a first-degree charge for Spencer’s murder. Starr realizes Tommy is her half-brother. Starr worries about Langston’s home life. Miles tries to make amends with Todd and won’t press assault charges against him. The judge suspends Todd’s jail sentence for his other crimes and gives him community service and a heavy fine, instead. Todd refuses to accept Blair’s apology for keeping the truth from him about Tommy’s parentage. Jessica panics when she finds Jared at the cottage with Nash. It appears that Jessica and Jared share an unpleasant past. Marty is pleased when she receives her annulment papers and tells Miles that their sham of a marriage is officially over. Miles shuts down when he sees Marty and John sharing a kiss and later has a violent outburst. Natalie spends a drunken night with Todd

SNEAK PEEK: Lindsey’s son comes home.

The one little preview that stood out to me, was the one about Langston’s home life; I am very intrigued to find out what is up with her. We never see her parents or family- maybe she lives by herself? And what is that spoiler about Natalie spending a drunken night with Todd, I really hope that is a typo because it just doesn’t seem likely.

OLTL: Fri. 9/7- Todd Manning: Action Star

Friday, September 7th, 2007

There were some high points of drama today with Todd trying to take control of everything, he was like an action hero-attacking a cop, escaping the cell, and bursting into the courtroom. Although I love Todd’s character, it would be a change for him to act maturely but hey it’s Todd. That ending scene was so classic soap opera, kind of reminded me of when (not relevant of young fans) Tina barged in on Cord and Kate’s wedding with his son. I love that he just knows what to do in a given situation- I cannot wait until Monday to see what will happen next.

What is with this double standard Bo has for Nora- he always forgives and gushes for the other troubled women in his life (Gabrielle and Paige come to mind). I was hoping for a very romantic reunion between the two but now I am losing hope. He was acting like she was at fault for Lindsay being arrested, hello Bo Lindsay killed someone- she controlled her own fate.

How ingratiating was it that Adriana had to appear at all today, I know she is Rex’s girlfriend and all but she really has no point to exist on OLTL. The only thing she has is that she knows the whole Tommy secret and then nothing else. Why give her the fashion career, give it to someone else like her mother, Dorian or maybe Lindsay-if she can beat this charge. Catherine Hickland is really fashionable in real life and that would be fun for her to pour onto her character.

The Marty stuff is bores to me, nothing really interested me like today’s AMC- now OLTL can take a page from AMC on how to improve bad writing. AMC is getting better and better every day.

OLTL: Tue. 9/4- Silence is Golden-haired

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

I have this nagging feeling that Lindsay is trying to cover for someone else and that’s why she is keeping quiet. Or maybe she just doesn’t want to further incriminate herself- a legal tactic, anyway you look at it there’s something fishy going on. If this saga goes on for another month, then this show is doomed for failure- just when I thought things were looking up.

Todd acted like Todd today but if any guy was in that situation, they would be pissed too. It’s natural for him to act out like this but he really needs to execute control once and a while. When he knows the full truth and all the players in it- Hell hath no fury like Todd Manning scorned!

So now we know what Buchanan girl Jared has eyes for- Jessica or maybe he had a sexual relationship with Tess and that’s why she can’t recognize him. I thought that she was integrated and if she was then shouldn’t she know who he was- she has Tess’s memory too. Please, please, please let there not be some sort of stalker storyline or else I would call Jared Tate 2.0- let there be good newbies at last!

It’s very refreshing for Dorian to play the role of friend for Lindsay in such a time- rather than capitalizing on her misfortunes. You can say that Dorian is making up for when Lindsay took the rap for Megan’s hit and run death, but I miss the old Dorian. Something tells me Dorian has something up her sleeve and she will try to manipulate the situation like Dorian ,of old, would do.

One Life to Live Weekly Preview: 9/3-9/7

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

ONE LIFE TO LIVE
: Blair convinces a disbelieving Todd that Tommy McBain is really his son T.J. John and Blair stop a fired-up Todd from racing out to claim his son from Michael and Marcie by getting him arrested. Blair tells Starr that T.J. is alive and admits she’s responsible for Todd being in jail. Starr has some tough questions for her mother. Blair is determined to make things right with Todd. Lindsay becomes emotional when Dorian visits and voices her unwavering support. Nora assures Clint she can put her personal feelings aside and won’t be biased in her prosecution of Lindsay. Nash tells Jessica about losing all his money in the poker game and how Antonio sold his shares of the vineyard. Jared leaves the cottage before Jessica sees him. Cristian feels horrible for hurting Sarah’s feelings when she overhears him telling Rex that he’s looking forward to the day when Sarah moves out of his apartment. Natalie assures Miles that he did the right thing in revealing the truth about Tommy. Adriana is caught off guard when Rex suggests they move in together, but she soon warms to the idea.

SNEAK PEEK: Marcie learns the truth.

OLTL: Wed. 8/29- Detective McPain in the Arse

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

John is so very determined to fry Lindsay and the strange thing is that he’s more adamant about her serving time more than Nora. If there was anyone who would love for her be in the situation, it would be Nora and John should just not get too involved. I know that Spencer challenged him to solve it and John always rises to a challenge, but it seems way too fanatical. The fact that Nora has moved on, from the past, is great because her character is developing and she isn’t the typical static soap character. I’m very interested to see what direction this new head writer has for the conclusion of this very long storyline.

So this week is the beginning of the whole Tommy custody storyline when finally, Todd will find out. I am very fearful that this will all be about Todd being deceived and not to mention this child is a product of male-rape, instead of about Tommy’s welfare. He only know Mike and Marcie as his parents, why confuse him even more. Just because he is your flesh and blood doesn’t mean you have every right to uproot him and raise him. Please Ron Carlivati make them think about the child and what’s best for him.

What a fool Clint is with his money, he’s giving it to people like it’s candy- I know he is nice and all but come on Nash is just mooching off of you. Then you let Dorian bet 10 million of your money and not to mention the money he almost gave to David. This guy needs to be more restraining to his finances, although he can afford it, he just seems like a fool. The best part was that Nash was too late to buy back his share in the vineyard- it may be his dream, but it most certainly is not Jessica’s, she’s loaded.

Other than that, Dorian was funny today and the budding romance between Tonio and Talia is heating up and I really don’t have a feel for them yet. It was a well rounded show with a nice ending with Miles telling Blair the truth, good days ahead!

One Life to Live Preview: Week of 8/27-8/31

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

From Lynda Hirsch-

Lindsay offers no resistance when John arrests her for Spencer’s murder. Michael is a bundle of nerves, as he and an incredulous Marcie watch as Lindsay is led away in handcuffs. Marcie is outraged that Lindsay is being accused of murder and is certain her friend is innocent. Miles returns to Natalie with the news that Todd’s baby is alive and closer than anyone realizes. Nash lies to Jessica and doesn’t mention losing his money — and possibly controlling interest in the vineyard — in the poker game. Antonio accepts Jared’s offer to buy his share of the vineyard. Sarah swallows her pride and takes a job as a waitress at Capricorn. Alone with Blair, Miles stuns her with the news that Tommy McBain is really T.J. Manning. John tries to head Blair off at the pass when he learns she’s on her way to tell Todd the truth about Tommy. Blair’s heart goes out to Marcie when she realizes what the future has in store for her. Blair tells Todd the truth about Tommy.

SNEAK PEEK: Todd wants his son.

OLTL: Fri. 8/24- Woman of the Year Curse Lives On

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

So, as evident of today, the curse lives on and another Woman of the Year was brought down. Lindsay will soon be arrested for murdering Spencer Truman, many will scratch their heads wondering why but I think making her the killer was genius. I’m glad they didn’t go one direction and blame it on Marcie- she has no idea who Tommy’s real parents are. I like it that Lindsay would have killed because she found out about Tommy- she doesn’t want Marcie’s family torn apart because of him. I wonder how she will get out of this mess and with Nora as the DA- I hope she goes easy on her.

So it is looking like this Jared guy was a past acquaintance of Tess and that’s why they have him in scenes with Nash so early. It will be a setup for the future where Nash and Jared will battle for Jessica’s heart. I just hope that Tess does not reemerge, she should not until much later the time is just not right for Tess to show. Jared will be a partner in the vineyard and it seems, an unbearable force in Nash and Jessica’s lives. I like when a con man comes to town and tries to shake it up-especially one with a mystery, I am intrigued to see what he’ll do next.

Miles better think of how he will live his life in Llanview rather than trying to make up to Todd. There’s no changing Todd’s mind-even if you do find some way to help him, he’ll treat you like dirt because of the past. You can’t get off the hook where it concerns Todd unless deep down he feels that too. He lives to expose and manipulate people, so Miles take Natalie’s advice and get over it already.

I liked today’s show, it had so much drama but it failed in comparison to other Woman of the Year ceremonies because this year you expected Lindsay to get ruined. I do have to credit the writers for making it someone I would have never suspected, good job!

One Life to Live Fall Preview

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Here are the Fall Preview for OLTL from Headwriter Ron Carlivati per Soap Opera Digest, they seem very interesting especially the one about Viki-what is to become of her when she comes back. I also would pay close attention to the last one because it might entail a past cast member, once again, reprising their role or maybe both.

Todd/Marcie/Michael/Tommy: “There will be a huge battle between Todd and Marcie and Michael for Tommy. There will definitely be big consequences for Michael and Marcie’s marriage.”

Miles/Marty: “Basically, they’re both going to be sort of rebuilding their lives. In the fall, we’ll see whether or not Miles can be redeemed, and if Marty can rebuild her life. John and Natalie will be in the middle of that as well.”

Lindsay: “Lindsay has been caught as Spencer’s killer, so that will be a big situation, and you’ll see Will rushing to his mother’s side pretty immediately after this all starts to blow up.”

Viki: “After Viki’s departure at the end of the 10,000th episode, we’re going to spend a couple months wondering exactly what has become of Viki. Her children will eventually start to get some e-mails from her, but maybe not everything that is being said in the e-mails is exactly what it appears to be. When we have her back in the fall, we’ll see exactly what happened to her from the moment she left the canvas.”

Newcomers: “Jared definitely has a fascination with Asa and wants to follow in Asa’s footsteps, but he also has a past connection with one of our Buchanan twins, Jessica or Natalie–I’m not going to say which one. Hunt Block’s new character, Lee, is going to be really interesting because he’ll be involved in two big cases that are going to affect a lot of different people on our canvas.”

David/The Buchanans: “There will be some payoff with David finding out he’s the Buchanan heir. We know that Nigel knows about David and then we’ll find out that two other people, Max and Alex, both know, so they’re sort of the wild cards in this situation will blow up and David will come back.”

OLTL: Wed. 8/22- The B*tch is Back!

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Alright the Nora that I love showed herself today, not giving any full support for Lindsay. Hey, who said she had to be happy for Lindsay after all the stuff she put Nora through. Marcie even threatened to kick her ass- that is taking it too far Marcie, you don’t care about her that much. Has the entire town completely forgot how dangerous and horrible Lindsay was, she’s just as bad as Dorian and you don’t see her winning Woman of the Year anytime soon. Nora was in full attorney mode today, I am so interested at what she will say in her speech about Lindsay- I’m so happy that they are renewing this classic feud!

Of course this Woman of the Year banquet is the setting for the downfall of one of Llanview’s famous women and the lucky one is …Lindsay! She will be arrested for the murder of Spencer Truman in true soap opera fashion.

I am intrigued at this new Jared Banks, another newbie with an agenda- a staple for OLTL which is getting old fast. I wonder what he has planned for the Buchanans- I wonder if he is planning on taking it at it’s most vulnerable moment, I truly think they will have to sell the company soon. I really hope that he doesn’t turn out to be some sort of psycho like Tate Harmon, make this guy a good guy. Now back to the Buchanan buyout- it would be interesting to see if he buys Buchanan or maybe if some other person such as David, the lost Buch heir or maybe Viki to get even with Clint- the possibilities are endless.

I understand that John is very upright and wants to do what his job entails but how can you doggedly go after a killer that did the world a justice. He is just like any other person to John but John come on he is a killer and a potential rapist- one that deserves to be six feet under. It seems like Ghost Spencer is a cast member now- so watch out he might pop up in the most random scenes. I could see it now Roxie and Natalie having a heart to heart at the hair salon and Spencer comes and says he needs a bikini wax before going to Hell. He’s almost become a joke since he has perished- he should book some shows, there are some people that would go to it.

Nash is gonna revert to gambling to cover the buyout of the vineyard. He needs help financially so he doesn’t ask Jessica, he goes to Roxie for her ”investment” help- this is going to blow up fast. And wasn’t that quick for Roxie to do Lindsay’s hair up in 20 or less minutes- I wonder how good her business is? If she was in a bigger city she’d be rolling in the dough for her fast service.

Other than that, other stuff was blah- not interested in the other stories’ progression.

OLTL: New Character Announced

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Former DAYS Actress Farah Fath’s new character on One Life to Live finally has a name, Gigi Morasco. Executive Producer Frank Valentini will say little more. “[Her story] is going to be a total surprise,” he teases. “Everybody’s just going to have to tune in. She’s a very exciting performer and I’m really looking forward to working with her.” After spending the summer in her hometown of Lexington, KY, Fath reports to work in September and will start airing on October 24.

Jessica surprises Nash with her spur-of-the-moment plan to take Bree to visit Kelly and Zane in London. Bo reinstates Antonio on the force and assigns Talia to work with him. Talia tries to hide her crush when she realizes she’s going to be spending a lot more time with Antonio, who’s oblivious to her feelings for him. Clint is impressed when Dorian makes short work of a reporter who’d been harassing him. John broods as he contemplates who could have killed Spencer and conjures up an image of Spencer himself. OLTL: Fri. 8/17- 10,000th Episode

Asa Buchanan 1925-2007 -You Will Be Deeply Missed.
ASA.jpg

I was very impressed with Bo (Robert S. Woods)- he scenes were full with intensity about to burst through the seams. He knocked it out of the park, he played the emotions so perfect- whey don’t they give him more material like this. Oh I know they give it to the actors who don’t know how to properly perform them- like the young cast or the less experienced actors. This BETTER be the beginning of great storylines for the veteran actors.
